CH 14 A Long Way Gone Questions

1. Ishmael has changed because instead of playing soccer and having fun he is doing Solder Work.
2. Ishmael has learned to adapt and get addicted to Marijuana and drugs.
3. When Ishmael took all the drugs together he felt so perspire that he took of his clothes.
4. There isn't much difference between The Government soldiers and the Rebels since they both kill innocent people and both think there doing the right thing.
5. The soldiers would watch movies, attack villages, and smoke marijuana in the entire day.
6. Ishmael has gotten adapted to the nature of killing and says it is as simple as getting a drink of water.
8. He was similar to Rambo because he wanted to be like him in the war.
9. Alhaji and Ishmael both decided to be like Rambo like he is there Hero.
11. The Soldiers would steal Food, Gasoline, Drugs, Cocaine, clothes, Jewelry, and other items from the towns.
13. They are not carful with the civilians because they attack them and force them to recruit.
14. Ishmael was feeling special because the Lieutenant was telling his speech about how the Soldiers are performing a good deed for the Country.
15. I think Ishmael is being brainwashed because he is doing what he is asked to do and has no Guilt or problems when killing people.

I named Ch 13 of A Long Way Gone A Country in Flames because in this Chapter Ishmael starts to lose it. He begans to lose it in the battlefield because his two friends have died and then adapts to the nature of killing people.

CH 13 A Long Way Gone Questions

1. The corporal told them to worship the lord because it might have been there last opportunity.
2. The swimming games were divide into two teams as an ambush.
3. The Solder told them that the bag of tablets will boost there energy.
4. Ishmael cried because he was afraid he was going to die.
5. Ishmael felt like the world was spinning, that he was going to fall off, and that he was going to be sick.
6. I think I would be frozen if I was in that situation.
7. Josiah tried to tell Ishmael something, but he passed out and died.
8. All of the Images of war was going through Ishmael’s head.
9. Ishmael probably wasn’t scared of the dead bodies because since he has been in the war he probably got use to it or he was just angry.
10. Ishmael lost Musa and Josiah in this chapter.
11. Ishmael had a dream that a rebel shot him.
12. Ishmael and his friends played soccer and swimming in there day of.
13. The boys were wearing army shorts.
14. The corporal told the Boys to take as much ammunition as they can carry.
15. Sheku fell down because he took to much Ammunition.
16. The pact Ishmael made with his friends was that the would try to stay together.
17. If I could describe the situation in the forest i would say chaos.

CH 12 A Long Way Gone War Against Rebels



I named CH 12 of A Long Way Gone war against rebels because Ishmael and his friends made it to the village of Yele. In the village they decide that they have to defeat the Rebels after what they done. So Ishmael dicides to join the Government and defeat the Rebels. Ishmael is now a solder for the Government and will have to watch his tent companions Sheku and Josiah.

CH 12 A Long Way Gone Questions Part Two

•1. I think Ishmael is safe with the solders but only for a while.
•2. The mood of the village in the beginning was happy because people were talking and laughing.
•3. The orphaned child's darkened the mood.
•4. The solders watched movies, played music, laughed, and smoked marijuana In the Evening.
•5. Ishmael liked busying himself from work because it kept his mind occupied.
•6. The soccer games reminded Ishmael of the league matches when he and his family lived in Mogbweno.
•7. He stared into open spaces while the other kids played games.
•8. Ishmael was getting migraines because he did nothing and was really worried.
•9. Lieutenant Jabati was a tall man with not much hair, Big eyes, and looked like he had something in his mouth.
•10. I think Ishmael liked Shakespeare because he has the speech memorized. He liked memorizing them because he thought he was good at speaking English.

•1. The men they encountered had dark faces, and red eyes.
•2. They arrived at the village Yele.
•3. there were many children, solders, and adults. The adults were talking. There was a lot of chatter and laughing.
•4. Some games reminded him of his family.
•5. Ishmael dreamed that he was shot in the head. When I have a dream I usually don’t wake up until the morning.
•6. Lieutenant Jabati Was a tall man with not much hair, Big eyes, and looked like he had something in his mouth.
•7. I think Ishmael did want to fight the Rebels because he is very Angry about what they did to his family.
•8. Lieutenant Jabati shows the boys dead bodies to make them see what the rebels have done.
•9. It might be inspiring because it makes them see how serious they are about killing and since some of them are kids they don’t fully understand the situation.
•10. in the training Regime the boys had to practice how to hold a gun and how to shoot.
•11. The banana tree was used to practice stabbing.

CH 11 A Long Way Gone Return of the Rebels

I named Ch 11 of a long way gone Return of the Rebels because in the chapter they meet Gasemu and they were real close to meeting there families until the rebels attacked. When the Rebels attacked Ishmael and his friends escaped. now Ishmael continues finding his Family and has feelings about anger when the oppurtunity to see his family occured but slipped away.

CH 11 A Long Way Gone Questions

•1. They put rocks around Saidu’s grave to grieve him.
•2. Gasemu use to be s notorious single men in Ishmael’s village.
•3. Gasemu said that his parents and brothers would be happy to see him.
•4. He started to feel excited when he heard the news.
•5. As they were going down the hill gunshots and dogs barking were occurring.
•6. The village was on fire.
•7. Gasemu started screaming because he saw the dead bodies of the villagers.
•8. The house were Ishmael’s family lived was on fire.
•9. He was feeling Guilty because he attacked Gasemu.
•10. The rebels were carrying gasoline, matches, and a head.
•11. They were bragging about the villages that they burnt down.
•12. I don’t know anyone that are that cruel and there are some people that irritate me.
•13. Gasemu told the boys to follow the path straight.
•14. He was probably happy seeing someone from his village being saved.
•15. They were really happy and excited being close to there families, but angry and wild when it slipped away.
•16. I don’t remember having something slip away from me.
•17. There is a possibility that some families made it out because there were just about ten rebels. And when some people brag sometimes they lie or are wrong. So its possible that some families made it out.

More tragedy occurs when one of there Friends die and they get so close to see there families, but gets ruined when the Rebels Return.

CH 10 A Long Way Gone Questions Part Two

•1. the unsettling thing about the journey was when or where it was going to end.
•2. They had to keep moving in order to survive and couldn’t stay in villages for a long time.
•3. he was sad because he couldn’t sleep some nights and always had to keep on moving.
•4. Ishmael compared his journey to the moon.
•5. maybe because Saidu thinks he is going to die any many. He decides to just die and loses interest in life along the journey.
•6. in his culture the spider was the animal that got what they wanted by tricking other people.
•8. There meat got stolen by a dog and eaten.
•9. Musa’s father was searching for his wife and Musa ran.
•10. Alhaji was at the river during the attack.
•11. Kanei and his parents were crossing the river but he was the only one who made it.
•12. Jumah and Moriba were searching for there parents during the attack, but couldn’t find them and they escaped from the town.
•13. Saidu’s family couldn’t leave because they were all inside there house during the attack.
•14. Saidu’s sisters got raped by rebels.
•15. They thought that a falling crow was a sign of bad luck.
•16. The dogs might have sensed bad things that the humans couldn’t sense.
•17. Saidu was the boy who died and he was buried.

CH 10 A Long Way Gone Questions part one

•1. He was sad because in his heart he wanted to live in those villages but couldn’t because he wanted to find his family.
•2. His Grandmother would call him spider when he tricked his brother.
•3. he missed his mothers hugs and protections. His fathers laughter and fun. His older brothers Corrections. And his little brothers jokes and pranks.
•4. They all knew the story about bra spider to well.
•5. When someone gets a name from the village leader it is a very important event to become part of the community and almost the entire village attends.
•6. A dog stole the food.
•7. I think Kanei story is the worst because his parents died while swimming and he lost his brothers and sisters.
•8. I don’t think they were ghost because they might not exist. And if they did they would be able to levitate.
•9. Since Dogs might have stronger hearing, seeing, and smelling they probably heard, smelled, and/or saw terror that could have been happening in nearby villages.
•10. Maybe it was the bird they ate that killed Saidu. Or he may have died of starvation or exhaustion.
•11. I never felt that much pain that he was experiencing.
