Ch 19 A Long Way Gone Questions

•1. Ishmael had to return to normal society so he was sent to live with his uncle.
•2. I think the two weeks felt longer than the eight months because he spent most of that time with his uncle.
•3. Sometimes I feel like school id so long.
•4. Ishmael survived the war because he used his wilderness instincts and killed to survive.
•5. I would want to survive but also let someone else from my family survive.
•6. In his plastic bag Ishmael packed: pair of sneakers, four T-Shirts, three shorts, tooth paste, tooth brush, Vaseline lotion, a walkman with cassettes, two long sleeved shirts, two pairs of pants, and a tie.
•7. I think Mambu’s family didn’t took him because of the war and also in chapter 15 he had anger problems.
•8. I cant think of anyone who can relate to Mambu.
•9. When I was sent here I never saw any of my old friends, but also never said good bye.
•10. Ishmael had feelings for Esther and wanted to tell her he loved her but never did.
•11. When they arrived his uncle carried him, and told him that he is going to be welcomed like a chief.
•12. When Ishmael entered the house his cousins hugged him, and his aunt cooked chicken.

•15. The boys at the dance had Ironed Shorts, Shirts tucked in, and were well dressed.
•16. The girl that danced with Ishmael pulled him close and danced slowly.
•17. While he was dancing he remembered when his squad attacked a school during a dance.
•18. Upline is a krio word mostly used in Freetown to refer to the backwardness of the inner country, its inhabitants, and the mannerisms.
•19. The interview was to send two children to the UN to talk about the Issues of Sierra Leone.
•22. Dr. Tamba told Ishmael that he has his Visa.
•23. Ishmael and the other child are now going to go to the UN to discuss about Sierra Leone.
